Valley Historical Society to meet today

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Valley Historical Society will meet today at 6 p.m. at the Charlotte Center Church for their monthly meeting. The address is 66942 Charlotte Center Road. This meeting will be the annual Christmas dinner.

All those attending are asked to bring a dish of food to share and their own table service. The business meeting will be to discuss future activities and speakers for the next year 2026. Election of officers will take place. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Dayton Fire vote is Dec. 9

DAYTON — The annual election of the Dayton Fire District Commissioner will take place on Dec. 9 between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m. at the Dayton Fire Hall located at 9512 Route 62 for the purpose of electing a fire Commissioner for a five-year term beginning Jan. 1 and ending Dec. 31, 2030. All candidates must be a resident of the Dayton Fire District for at least 30 days before the election, and at least 18 years of age on the Fire District Election Day.

Westfield meets on comprehensive plan

WESTFIELD — The Village of Westfield Board of Trustees and the Village of Westfield Planning Board will hold two informal non- public hearing work session meetings today and Thursday, Dec. 11 in the North Room of Eason Hall, both from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The purpose of the work session meetings is to review the draft updated comprehensive plan.

The Westfield Comprehensive Plan Planning Committee, made up of representatives of both the Village and Town of Westfield has met and worked at developing the draft plan and now the primary focus is to ensure that respective community leaders and others have an opportunity for review and direct input into the plan.

This plan will guide our community for many years. The plan is still subject to change and revision (if needed) and as much input as possible is encouraged.

County Ethics Board meets Wednesday

MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua County Ethics Board will be holding a meeting on Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Room 333 of the Gerace Office Building, 3 N. Erie St. Current members of the board are John Hamels, Diane Hannum, and Stephanie Stevens.
