United Seniors to meet March 9
United Senior Citizens will meet Monday, March 9 for the first meeting of 2026. The lunch will consist of the traditional Irish fare: Corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, carrots and rye bread and surprise dessert, coffee, tea and water.
At the last meeting of 2025, December birthday gals were acknowledged: Silvana Bajdas, Delores Fairbanks, Carol Hatfield and Val Lis. A moment of silence was shared for friends Sandra Barone (former member), and husband of (current member) Nancy Niebel.
Bingo was played after lunch and callers were Lucy Saeli and Rosemary Mancuso.
United Senior Citizens meet the second Monday of the month except January and February at noon in the Falcon Club, 341 Lake Shore Drive East, Dunkirk. Dues are $5 per year and we meet, greet and eat a catered meal, tell a few stories or jokes, a speaker occasionally and almost always bingo afterwards.
United Seniors is one of many senior citizen organizations in the county that you can be welcomed, enjoy great conversations and lunches and meet new friends.
Members: please mail your $16 check made out to United Senior Citizens and send to Evonne Hennebery, PO Box 706, Dunkirk, NY 14048 by March 5.
Computer classes set in Dunkirk
The Dunkirk Public Library, 536 Central Ave., has announced computer classes for March, including Ancestry Library Edition on March 10 from 1 to 2:30 p.m.; How to Use Gmail on March 11 from 1 to 2:30 p.m.; Exploring iPhones on March 13 from 11 a.m. to noon; Gaming Day Roblox on March 16 from 3 to 4:30 p.m.; Computer Displays on March 17 from 2:30 to 4 p.m.; How to Use Zoom Meetings on March 19 from 1 to 2:30 p.m.; Ancestry Library Edition on March 25 from 3 to 4:30 p.m.; Exploring Androids on March 26 from 11 a.m. to noon. Space is limited.
Registration is required for all classes. Classes will not run if there are no participants registered. Call (716) 366-2511 to reserve a seat for any class.
Personal Devices are needed for some classes. Individual tutoring sessions are by appointment only. Walk-in assistance is based on staff availability and familiarity with the individual.’
