Annual Taste of South event planned

The Juneteenth 2026 Celebration Committee will be sponsoring the Annual Taste of the South on Friday, May 8 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Open Door No. 3 Church of God in Christ, 59 Lake Shore Drive West, Dunkirk. Dinners will be take-out only.

The Annual Taste of the South is a Southern style African American down home bar-b-que featuring for dinner a taste of many Southern dishes including bar-b-que ribs, bar-b-que chicken, shredded pork, macaroni and cheese, green beans with white potatoes, sweet potato casserole, Mama’s potato salad, macaroni salad, corn on the cob, sweet potato pie and more.

This event will kick off the Juneteenth 2026 celebration which is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, June 13 and 14 at Memorial Park, Dunkirk. For more information and tickets, please call Laurie at 785-7900 or Loretta at 363-1102.

Sinclairville announces program today

SINCLAIRVILLE — Life Story Writing is back after our winter break at Sinclairville Free Library. Join us to explore life themes together and to create a written life story for personal reflection or to share with friends and family members. Take the time to document your life story.

All materials are provided. For ages 12 and up. Great for families. It is today at 6 p.m. or online via Zoom. Registration is required to attend virtually.

The library will be closed in observance of the Easter holiday starting Friday through Monday. The library will reopen on Wednesday at 9 a.m.

Church announces Easter service

SILVER CREEK — An Easter service at Trinity Lutheran Church at 15 Porter Ave. will be at 10:30 a.m. Sunday with Pastor Emeritus Travis Grubbs officiating. Our regular weekly service will return to Saturday at 5 p.m. with Pastor Matthew Schettler from St. Paul’s in Fredonia as the vacancy pastor. Please consider starting your Easter morning with us.
