Overnight closure

of I-86 Bridge over Chautauqua Lake

The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists that the bridge carrying Interstate 86 eastbound over Chautauqua Lake, between the towns of North Harmony and Ellery, Chautauqua County, will be closed from 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, to 6 a.m. Thursday, April 9, to facilitate an ongoing rehabilitation project.

Motorists should follow the posted detour utilizing State Route 394 and State Route 430.

Trinity United Church of Christ free community meal

GOWANDA — The Trinity United Church, located at Erie Avenue and Park Street, Gowanda, will host a take-out only free community meal at the Park Street entrance on Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. or gone. Drive East Main to Railroad Avenue and then down Park Street, following the signs, or walk up. The menu is pulled pork sandwich, vegetable and cookie. Free will donations are appreciated but not necessary. All donations are used to help other organizations in the Gowanda community. Everyone is welcome. The next meal is May 9.

Steel coffee group meets Friday

SHERIDAN — Roblin Steel Coffee group will meet on Friday at the Crossroads Diner at 9 a.m. Former employees and family are invited to attend.

Fred Basket lists hours four month

On Saturday, April 18, Fred Basket previously known as The Fredonia Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon at Fredonia Presbyterian Church at 219 Central Ave. It is additionally open on Wednesdays from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Guests may only receive one helping a month. These new hours hope to serve those who cannot attend on Saturdays the food pantry serves the needs of residents of Fredonia, ZIP code 14063, Pomfret, Sheridan, and Laona. All guests receive one or more bags of non-perishable food. Number of bags given out depends on family size.

Cassadaga Valley School Board To Meet

SINCLAIRVILLE – The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Education of the Cassadaga Valley Central School District will be held on Wednesday, April 15, in the Middle High School Multi-Purpose Room. A budget workshop will be held prior, at 5 p.m., and the regular meeting will convene immediately following the workshop.
