Trinity United Church of

Christ sets free community meal

GOWANDA — The Trinity United Church, located at Erie Avenue and Park Street, Gowanda, will host a take-out only free community meal at the Park Street entrance on Saturday, May 9 from 4 to 6 p.m. or gone. Drive East Main to Railroad Avenue and then down Park Street, following the signs, or walk up. The menu is burritos, yellow rice, corn, jello and cookies. Free will donations are appreciated but not necessary. All donations are used to help other organizations in the Gowanda community. Everyone is welcome. The next meal is June 13.

Church holding Friday, Saturday sale

You know it’s spring when Trinity Episcopal Church Women hold their spring Rummage Sale on Friday and Saturday in Garland Hall, 11 Day St., Fredonia, behind Trinity Episcopal Church.

You’ll not find a more organized or clean sale in the county. Who knows what new to you treasure you will find. Come and check out our assortment of spring/summer clothes, some new with tags and name brands, books, housewares, small electronics, holiday decor, linens, jewelry, children’s toys and the list continues. Volunteers are still unpacking, sorting and marking fair prices.

Come and explore from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. All proceeds are

used to support the Friendly Kitchen and other local needs.

Wellness event planned for May 6

ASHVILLE — Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES and The Waterfront Foundation will host a community wellness event on Wednesday, May 6, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Hewes Educational Center, 2615 N. Maple Ave.

During the Love Yourself Jamestown event, students in the Cosmetology program will provide services including manicures, pedicures, and hair washing and styling by appointment, along with complimentary refreshments. Health Careers students will also offer vital checks, as well as height and weight screenings.

Appointments are required for services and can be made by calling 716-672-3241 ext. 3041.

Prekindergarten roundup underway

SOUTH DAYTON — Pine Valley Central School will host Universal Pre-Kindergarten Roundup for children entering in the fall of 2026 on May 19 and 20. Parents with a child who will be 3 or 4 years of age on or before Dec. 1, 2026, and has not been added to the list, please contact Ms. Colburn at the Elementary Office at 988-3291 ext. 3260.
