May Day rally, march planned in city

On Friday, a march and rally will be held in conjunction with a nationwide day of collective action in support of the rights of the Working Class, workers over billionaires. Across the country, in recognition of May Day, Americans are encouraged to abstain from buying particularly from large corporations, and wherever possible, strike from job or school, to send the message that the working class is suffering under this current economy. Since everyone may not be able to do that, marches are also scheduled around the nation to deliver a message.

Locally, a March and rally to Support the Rights of the Working Class will begin at 4 p.m. Friday at the Gazebo in Washington Park, Dunkirk. Following a brief rally with speakers, a march will proceed to Central Avenue, around the block, and back to the Gazebo for a closing program. Anyone who wants to show their support for the workers of our neighborhood and across America, is welcome to join in.
