County Legion Auxiliary meets Thursday

The Chautauqua County American Legion Auxiliary monthly meeting will be hosted by Fredonia Memorial Unit 59, 145 E. Main St., Fredonia, on Thursday starting with dessert at 6:30 p.m., followed by the meeting. The OCW raffle will be conducted by Cassadaga Unit 1280 and Nominations for 2026-27 County Officers will be held. The annual Memorial Service will honor auxiliary members from Chautauqua County who have passed during the year, and all members are encouraged to attend to pay tribute to their memory.

Rummage sale set for Saturday

CASSADAGA — The Cassadaga Legion Auxiliary Unit 1280 will be holding its annual Rummage/Bake Sale on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is open to the public. One person’s trash is another person’s treasure. Come find a treasure,and get something for your sweet tooth too!

Telescope event moved to May 28

STOCKTON — The Martz-Kohl Observatory and the Seymour Memorial Library are sponsoring an event to learn to use a telescope. The Observatory has gifted the library two telescopes, which are available for loan throughout the year.

This class will teach you how to properly use the telescope as well as what you might witness when you look through the glass. The training will take place at the Stockton Branch on Thursday, May 28 from 7 to 9 p.m.
