Healthcare for youth event planned June 16

A fun and educational event! Bring your Stuffed Animal or Doll for a Check-up!

Come to a special event where children can bring their favorite stuffed animals or dolls for a fun and friendly medical check-up! This interactive experience helps kids feel comfortable with healthcare while learning about healthy habits.

Parents must stay with their children while they are participating in this event.

The first open house healthcare event will take place Tuesday, June 16 at Central Christian Academy, 876 Central Ave., Dunkirk from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The second event is scheduled for Tuesday, June 23 at Northern Chautauqua Catholic School, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Historical talk focuses on Packard Car Co.

JAMESTOWN — The Busti Historical Society’s May talk is about James Ward Packard, of Lakewood, the Packard Car Co., and his life beyond the motorcar. The talk is Sunday at 2 p.m. Presented by Paul Johnson, the local authority on the Packard family’s ties to Lakewood. The talk will be presented outdoors in the pavilion. Please bring a lawn chair. The Society will have chairs available. In the event of Inclement weather the talk will move indoors to the meeting room.

Admission and parking are free, donations gratefully accepted. The address is 3443 Lawson Road, Jamestown.

Congregation sets Sunday service

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northern Chautauqua (UUCNC), located at 222 Temple St. in Fredonia, holds a Sunday Worship Service at 11 a.m., both at their physical location and on Zoom. For those wishing to join us virtually, please visit https://tinyurl.com/caluucnc. Click on “Worship Service” on the date you are attending and scroll down for the Zoom link. For those attending the in-person service, please follow the driveway and park in the lower lot behind the building. Handicapped parking is located between the two buildings and directly behind the second building.

The theme for May is Awakening Curiosity. On Sunday, join us for “The Two Faces of Curiosity,” with Brian and Leanna McMahon.

The UUCNC members will reflect on curiosity as a pathway to non-judgment and compassionate action and as a pathway to creativity and delight.
