Colonial Dames meet in Buffalo

A grand luncheon was enjoyed at Chefs Restaurant, 291 Seneca St., Buffalo, by the ladies of the Alice Putnam Chapter of the Colonial Dames XVII Century.

Bonnie Larkin made a motion to nominate Brenda Johnson for the honor of Honorary State Regent. Deborah Ayers seconded. The vote was unanimous. The group is proud to have two Honorary State Regents from our Chapter.

Johnson proposed that the group donate $100 to honor departed members to the National Colonial Dames XVII Century House Fund in Washington, D.C. Motion seconded by Elizabeth Mourer and unanimously passed.

Cindi Rymer, daughter of Carol Cornwall, displayed pictures from early 1800s and talked about early members.

Barbara Pietro presented a program on National Donut Day. In World War I the ‘Dough Boys’ started the tradition and now it is carried on, even here as she brought several donuts for us to enjoy. Next meeting is Sept. 1. If you would like to join, please email Barbara Pietro, jbpietro@gmail.com for more information.
