Veterans 4 Christ meet Saturday

Veterans 4 Christ are ready to meet on Saturday, June 20. The event includes a free homemade brunch with Paula’s Donuts for veterans, active-duty military and immediate family.

The event is at 10 a.m. in Tri-Church Parish in Brocton. The speaker is unknown. The atmosphere is fun, conversation, camaraderie and plenty of food.

County Fair clarifies ticket information

Chautauqua County Fair officials clarified ticket information in a news release this week. Demolition Derby tickets are on sale to the public at the fair office. These tickets include gate admission, rides, and an assigned grandstand seat. Ticket prices are not subject to a senior discount.

Through July 20, costs are: Rows A-N: $17; Rows O-CC: $14.

From July 21 to 26, costs are: Rows A-N: $22; Rows O-CC: $19.

Sons of Legion meet Tuesday

The Sons of the American Legion Post 59 at 156 E. Main St. in Fredonia will have their monthly meeting on Tuesday at 7 p.m. A gun raffle will be discussed and elected leaders will be sworn in.

Fredonia senior wins scholarship

The family of Alissa Mari Cole is pleased to award the 2026 Alissa Mari Cole Memorial Scholarship to Gracia Domenico. Domenico is graduating from Fredonia Central School and will be pursuing a degree in English Adolescent Education at SUNY Fredonia in the fall.

The Alissa Mari Cole Scholarship was created to honor the memory of Cole’s dedication to children and her legacy as an exemplary teacher. The family “congratulates Gracia and all 2026 graduates!”
