Brush pickup planned Monday in village
The village of Fredonia will be picking up limbs and yard waste beginning Monday at 7 a.m. Collection will continue until every village street has been completed. Bags and brush are collected separately by different crews. All items for collection must be at the curb no later than 7 a.m. In no case will there be a repeat collection of areas completed.
All yard waste must be bagged or in barrels. The village encourages the use of biodegradable bags or barrels and all limbs and brush must be tied with twine.
Limbs and brush must be cut no longer than 4 feet in length with bundles being no larger than 18 inches in diameter. Bundles and bags are limited to 65 pounds in weight. There is no collection of loose material. No loose leaves or loose branches will be picked up.
‘Special Places’ event set for Sheridan
SHERIDAN — The Sheridan Historical Society will welcome Wendy Straight on Wednesday evening at 6:30. She will present a program on “Special Places and Events in Sheridan 1830-1860, including Greek Revival and Anti-Slavery People.” The public is invited to this talk, and also to explore the displays included in the Historical Center.
The building will be open for visiting at 5 prior to the speaker. The Sheridan Historical Society is located 2702 Route 20 in Sheridan, at Route 20 and Center Road. For more information on upcoming events, please visit the website, sheridanhistorical.org.
