Roblin Steel group to meet

The Roblin Steel Coffee group will meet on Friday at the Crossroads Diner in Sheridan at 9 a.m. Former employees and family are invited to attend.

Computer classes set for library

The Dunkirk Public Library, 536 Central Ave., has announced computer classes for July, including: Ancestry Library Edition today from 1 to 2:30 p.m.; Cleaning up Email on Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m.; Navigating Microsoft Teams on July 15 from 1 to 2 p.m.; Digitizing Files and Important Documents on July 16 from 1 to 2 p.m.; Protecting Your Personal Data On-Line on July 21 from 1 to 2 p.m.; Questions About Androids on July 28 from 1 to 2 p.m.; Using Your Apple Devices on July 29 from 1 to 2 p.m.; Ancestry Library Edition on July 30 from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

Space is limited. Registration is required for all classes. Call (716) 366-2511 to reserve a seat. Personal Devices may be needed for some classes.

Brocton Portland Seniors gather in June

BROCTON — Brocton Portland Seniors met June 30 at Brocton American Legion. Opening the meeting, Anita Calcaterra, president, welcomed 52 members. New members were Judy Fingerhut, Bob Bates, Lois Dengler, Bill Kubasik, Mary Ann Payne, and Paulette Bialaszewski. Cecelia Filipkowski gave the Prayer of Thanks and Doug Chatley led the Pledge of Allegiance.

The committee members Filipkowski, Nancy Renckens, Brenda Drummond, Denise Griffin, Nancy Hayden and Becky Addington decorated with strawberry tablecloths, served foods and cleaned up. Beautiful centerpieces were made by Hayden won by 22 folks. Basket won by Addington with Carol Hussey and Don Carlson winning the club’s two door prizes. Raffle for 12 ended the fun. Secretary Ruth Neal, read the minutes for May was approved. Treasurer Judy Moffett read her report.

The Farmers’ Market next date is July 10 and 24 at 12:30 at Ryckman Park. Ahira Hall Memorial Library concerts in Ryckman Park, start at 6:30 p.m. On Thursday, New Horizons Bandl July 16, Ion Sky Acoustics; July 23, Pat Cook and July 30 Swamp Yankees.

A get well card will be sent to Louise Torrey. The raffle drawing amounts will change in August meeting. Thank you letter was received from Brocton/Portland Food Pantry for the donation. All sang the Happy Birthday song to Calcaterra, Rita Bennett, Marie Emke (94), Margaret Jagoda, Linda Riley, June Woollett, Carlson and Robin Carr. Tim Stockman entertained the group throughout the luncheon with folks visiting, singing and dancing along with his happy fun tunes. It was a really musical good time.

A strawberry jello cake served with members dishes to pass, went well in place of the real strawberry fruit. Office for the Aging members will be the program at the July 28 meeting.

Tom DeJoe passed a sign up for hot dog, hamburger picnic for the July 28 meeting. DeJoe with Doug Chatley, Brian Stanton, Laurel Giambra at the grill, with Judy Fingerhut, Rita Bennett and Barb Crandall committee. Members are asked to bring a dish to pass, a small item for a game and personal table service.
