Sons of Revolution meeting Saturday
STOCKTON — The Chautauqua County chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution will be meeting this Saturday, July 11 at the Stockton Hotel at 12:30 p.m. The meal will be followed by a meeting outlining our plans for the rest of the season.
The SAR is a male lineage organization for descendants of the Patriots who fought or otherwise served the United States during the American Revolution. Its purpose is to honor our ancestors and celebrate our glorious heritage as American citizens.
South Dayton sets busy weekend
SOUTH DAYTON — The village has a fun-filled busy weekend. On Saturday, from 10 a.m to 3 p.m. enjoy the communitywide lawn sale. Saturday and Sunday starting at noon, the South Dayton Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual Tractor Pulls.
On Saturday purchase pulled pork for lunch and on Sunday purchase a chicken barbecue. Bring your lawn chairs.
Sunday, an Open House from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m at the Backstreet Girls, 122 Oak St. Also you can picnic on the Village Square. Visit the Depot Rail and Movie Museum, and the Farmers’ Market will be set up next to the Depot.
Fred Basket lists hours for month
On Saturday, July 18, Fred Basket previously known as The Fredonia Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. until noon at Fredonia Presbyterian Church at 219 Central Ave., and additionally, on Wednesdays from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Guests may only receive one helping a month. These new hours hope to serve those who cannot attend on Saturdays. The pantry serves the needs of residents of Fredonia, ZIP code 14063, Pomfret, Sheridan, and Laona. All guests receive one or more bags of non-perishable food. The number of bags given out depends on family size.
