Parking hearing canceled
The public hearing on parking changes in the village of Fredonia, scheduled for 5 p.m. today, has been canceled until further notice. The village made the announcement on its website.
Silver Creek Senior Citizens meet
SILVER CREEK - The Silver Creek Seniors met on July 14 with 22 people in attendance. Peggy led a fun exercise program before the meeting. President Randy Nurmi then opened the meeting with all saying the Pledge of Allegience and singing God Bless America. Chaplain Pauline Flitt read "Refresh Your Self" and offered a blessing on the members and food.
At the meeting attendees enjoyed pizza and tossed salad. The "sign in" winners were Janice Snyder, Pauline and Ginny Chesbro. The 50-50 winners were Carol Struwe, Pauline, and Jeff Struwe. Wheel of fortune lucky winners included Al Wilson, Ruth Sheeler (3 times) and Jeanne Blakely. Lorrie Newman called bingo and the winners were: Eleanor Lemiszko (twice), Ginny, Janice (twice), Jay Clark, Randy, Pauline (twice), Lorrie and Jan Polisoto.
On Tuesday lunch will be sandwiches and ice cream cones. This senior group meets every Tuesday at 1 p.m., arrive by 12:30 p.m. Call Lorrie for information at 716-785-1074. (Note: The group is inviting everyone 55 years of age or older to come and join in the fun.)
South Dayton lists coming events
SOUTH DAYTON -- On Wednesday, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. music will be performed in the South Dayton Gazebo by Paul Zittel & Pure Country playing Traditional, Classic, and Original County music. Refreshments are available. Attendees can come early dine at Zollinger’s Restaurant and get takeouts at the South Dayton Super Market. Refreshments will be for sale next to the Village Office and in the Depot Museum. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy your friends too. On Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, enjoy card making with Barb Nobles and Donna Snyder at the Backstreet Girls, 122 Oak St. The cost is $10 for making four different cards, bring scissors, glue or double sided tape.
