Legislature meeting at Jackson Center
The Legislature's meeting will take place on Wednesday, July 22, at 6:30 p.m. at the Robert H. Jackson Center Theater, located at 305 E. Fourth St., Jamestown. The meeting remains open to the public and will also be livestreamed on the Chautauqua County Government YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/@ChautauquaCounty.
The special meeting location coincides with two significant milestones being celebrated this year: the 25th anniversary of the Robert H. Jackson Center and the 80th anniversary of the International Military Tribunal at Nuremberg, where Robert H. Jackson served as chief United States prosecutor and played a pivotal role in shaping the foundation of modern international criminal justice.
Closure of Interstate 86 Bridge over Chautauqua Lake
The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists that the bridge carrying Interstate 86 eastbound over Chautauqua Lake between the towns of North Harmony and Ellery in Chautauqua County will be closed between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Friday, July 24, as part of an ongoing rehabilitation project. Motorists should follow the posted detour utilizing State Route 394 and State Route 430.
Parks Commission to meet
The Chautauqua County Parks Commission will be meeting at Erlandson Overview Park in Frewsburg at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 23 for their monthly meeting. The public is welcome to attend.
