Closure of Interstate 86 Bridge over Chautauqua Lake
The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists that the bridge carrying Interstate 86 eastbound over Chautauqua Lake between the towns of North Harmony and Ellery in Chautauqua County will be closed as part of an ongoing rehabilitation project during the following times: 2-6 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28; 3-6 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29; 3-6 a.m. on Thursday, July 30.
Motorists should follow the posted detour utilizing State Route 394 and State Route 430.
SOAR Chapter to meet
SOAR Chapter 4-1 will meet Tuesday, July 28 at USW Local 2693 Union Hall on Fourth Street in Dunkirk. The meeting will convene at noon with lunch to follow. All SOAR Members and retirees are invited to attend. For further information call 716-680-0502.
Trinity United Church of Christ free community meal
The Trinity United Church, located at Erie Avenue and Park Street, Gowanda, will host a take-out only free community meal at the Park Street entrance on Saturday, Aug. 8 from 4 to 6 p.m. or gone. Drive East Main to Railroad Avenue and then down Park Street, following the signs, or walk up. The menu is Italian sausage hoagie, macaroni and cheese, green beans and a cookie. Free will donations are appreciated but not necessary. All donations are used to help other organizations in the Gowanda community. Everyone is welcome. The next meal is Sept. 12.
FHS Class of ’81 to hold 45 year reunion
The Fredonia High School class reunion is scheduled for Aug. 21-23. Classmates and friends will gather at Coughlan’s Pub on Friday, Aug. 21 after 7 p.m. There will be a class dinner at The White Inn on Saturday, Aug. 22.
