Ripley school board meets
RIPLEY -- A regular meeting of the Board of Education of the Ripley Central School District will be held on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in Room 119 for any and all other items that come before the Board.
VFW Auxiliary holds meeting
SHERIDAN -- The Sheridan Post 6390 VFW Auxiliary met Aug. 10 at a member’s home to conduct business. Sales of hot dogs at the recent concert were discussed.
Next year, at the concert, the group will be selling baked goods. Candy bar sales at the club are going well and more candy bars are being ordered. These sales allow the group to donate to the community and veteran organizations each month. There was a discussion about bingo in February next year. The Auxiliary District 6 meeting will be Sept. 12 and our president will be attending. Our next meeting is Sept. 14 at 6:30 at Post 6390. Church service remembers family
SHERIDAN -- On Sunday, August 23, the Sheridan United Methodist Church will be holding a special service and celebration to honor the late Charlie and Mary Brennan for all the blessings they did for the church. There will be a reception following the 10:30 a.m. service led by pastor David Watson. Brennan family members will be in attendance; friends of the family are all welcome.
The church is located at 2679 Route 20 in Sheridan.
