Finance Committee meeting changes
The Dunkirk Common Council’s Finance Committee meeting originally set for today is postponed by a day.
City Fiscal Affairs Officer Ellen Luczkowiak said Councilman-at-large Nick Weiser had a scheduling conflict Monday. The committee meeting will now be at 10 a.m. Tuesday. It’s still set for the first floor Stearns Building conference room.
Sons of Legion gather Tuesday
The Sons of the American Legion Post 59 at 156 E. Main St. in Fredonia will have its monthly meeting on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Silver Creek Senior Citizens meet
MAYVILLE - The Silver Creek Seniors met on Sept. 15 with 25 members present. President Randy Nurmi opened the meeting with all saying the Pledge of Allegiance and singing God Bless America. Chaplain Pauline Flitt read "Everyone is Special" and offered a prayer for the members and the pot luck lunch.
The "sign in" winners were John Czuba, Joan Suski and Ruth Sheeler. The 50-50 winners were Jay Clark, Eleanor Lemiszko and Lorrie Newman. Wheel of Fortune lucky winners included Elaine Wojda, Dixie Carlson, Carol DePasquale, John, Harry Suski and Jeanne Blakely. Elaine called bingo and the winners were: Jeff Struwe (twice), Jeanne (twice), Earl Sheeler, Ruth, Dixie, Carol Struwe, Annette Hoeber, Janice Snyder, Eleanor, Pauline, and Kim Munch.
Tuesday's lunch will be sandwiches, salads and desserts. This senior group meets every Tuesday at 1 p.m.., arrive by 12:30 p.m. Call Lorrie for information at 716-785-1074. (Note: The group is inviting everyone 55 years of age or older to come and join in the fun.
