Can and bottle drive set for Saturday
The Blessed Mary Angela Holy Name Society will hold a can and bottle drive on Satuday in front of the former St. Hyacinth School on Lake Shore Drive East in Dunkirk from 9 a.m. to noon. Proceeds will help with parish expenses.
The Blessed Mary Angela Holy Name Society appreciates all the support in the "Drive Through" Pierogi Dinner. Plans are in the making for a full Polish dinner before Christmas.
Villenova Burial Association plans meeting
SOUTH DAYTON -- The 2026 Annual Fall Meeting of the Villenova Burial Association will be Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the Villenova Town Hall, 1094 Butcher Road.
This is a member meeting for anyone who owns a lot or has a family member buried in the Villenova Cemetery as a member, you are a part of the VBA and responsible for the Cemetery's future operation and upkeep. The Trustees of the VBA would welcome attendance at, and participation in, this meeting, as the group works to preserve the 200-plus year-old Cemetery.
Trinity United Church of Christ free community meal
GOWANDA -- The Trinity United Church, located at Erie Avenue and Park Street, will host a take-out only free community meal at the Park Street entrance on Saturday, Oct. 10 from 4 to 6 p.m. or gone. Drive East Main to Railroad Avenue and then down Park Street, following the signs, or walk up. The menu is Chicken Alfredo over pasta, vegetable, fruit and a cookie. Free will donations are appreciated but not necessary. All donations are used to help other organizations in the Gowanda community. Everyone is welcome. The next meal is Nov. 14.
