The theme for October is Courage. On Sunday, join us for Courage in the Face of Fear, will be the topic by Cara Seekings.
Everyone experiences fear in life. Whatever the fear, there is something in our very being which causes us to fear events, people, and things. And sometimes, we fear for no reason. “Be strong, be brave, be courageous!" a phrase that echoes through our lives. But really, what is courage? Courage is fighting through fear. It's going forward when all else is against you. It's the ability to keep moving when you'd rather retreat.
The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northern Chautauqua strives to be a vibrant, welcoming, multigenerational, diverse community enlivened by the power of radical love. For more information about us, visit our website at www.uucnc.org, or call at 716-679-7944.
Halloween at the Mill planned for Sunday
JAMESTOWN -- All are invited to a different way to enjoy Halloween this year at the Busti Historical Society’s annual Halloween at the Mill event on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m.
“Many of the Grimm’s fairy tales take place at or near a mill. The Busti grist mill is the perfect backdrop to see the well-known and not-so-well-known fairy tales in action,” says Victoria Parker, Education Coordinator, at the Busti Historical Society. “Costumed guides and actors will tell the stories across the historical society campus of the mill and the restored 1846 miller’s house.”
The event will also feature a hand craft and refreshments. This is a non-scary Halloween treat appropriate for all ages. Admission is $10 for adults, children under 12 is $5. Tours start every half hour at 4, 4:30, 5 and 5:30 p.m. For reservations email bustihistorcal.edu@gmail.com. The Busti Historical Society is located at 3443 Lawson Road.
