6 new COVID cases reported; 16 active

Six new cases of COVID-19 within Chautauqua County were reported Monday. The new cases, according to the county Department of Health, involve two people under the age of 18, women in their 20s, 30s and 40s, and a man in his 50s.

There are 16 active cases for those who continue to recover under orders from local health officials. In addition, there are 114 county residents who are under quarantine or isolation. Not all of those being monitored are confirmed to have COVID-19 but have either shown symptoms, are awaiting results or have risk factors.

There are 1,194 people under domestic traveler quarantine for having arrived to Chautauqua County from a state listed on the New York state travel advisory. There is also one person with COVID-19 who remains hospitalized.

To date there have been 236 recoveries, nine deaths, 261 total confirmed cases and 26,003 negative test results.
