72% of county COVID-19 cases come from cities, Fredonia

Chautauqua County reported no new cases of the coronavirus on Wednesday morning. However, of the 623 cases reported, 451 come from Dunkirk, Jamestown and Fredonia. That is 72 percent of the cases.

According to the COVID-19 county map, there have been 159 cases in Dunkirk with four active; 154 in Jamestown with three active; 138 in Fredonia with 14 active.

The Health Department also reported there are 31 active cases that continue to recover with 250 cases under quarantine/isolation orders by the Public Health Director and being monitored.

There are 28 people under domestic traveler quarantine for having arrived to Chautauqua County from a state listed on the New York State travel advisory with one person hospitalized as of Monday.

To date: there have been 582 recovered cases; 10 deaths; 623 total confirmed cases; and 41,662 negative test results.
