County reports 2 new COVID-19-related deaths

The Chautauqua County Department of Health on Tuesday reported two additional COVID-19-related deaths. Both residents were in their 70s, and mark 18 such deaths due complications of the virus.

“Our sincere condolences go out to their loved ones,” the county Health Department said in a news release.

In addition, the county reported 29 new cases, of which four were in the Dunkirk zip code, six in Silver Creek, five in Jamestown, two in Bemus Point, two in Cassadaga, two in Falconer, three in Frewsburg, two in Lakewood and one each in Fredonia, Cherry Creek and Mayville. As of Tuesday, there were 168 active cases as well as 13 people with COVID-19 hospitalized, 1,353 recovered cases and 1,539 total confirmed cases.
