Brooks Hospital to restrict visitation beginning Thursday

Brooks-TLC Hospital

UPDATE: Brooks has notified the OBSERVER that the change will take place on Thursday, not today as originally reported.

Brooks-TLC Hospital announced that visitation will be “strictly prohibited” effective Thursday, including those dropping off a patient.

In a statement, the hospital said, “Exceptions include critically ill patients, end of life and comfort care patients, and father or labor coach only in obstetrics. Children under 17 years of age will not be allowed to visit unless there are special circumstances.”

“We realize the COVID restrictions have been difficult for patients’ families and we appreciate everyone’s cooperation to keep our patients, staff and community safe,” said Mary LaRowe, Brooks-TLC president and CEO. “With an abundance of caution, we are restricting visitation and hope everyone will understand this continued vigilance as we navigate this phase of the pandemic.”
