The Cattaraugus County Department of Health reported three additional COVID-related deaths Saturday evening. The deaths, involving a 44-year-old man, 92-year-old woman and 71-year-old man, mark 44 to date in the county and six in the last three days.

“We extend our deepest condolences to their family and the entire Cattaraugus County community,” the county Health Department said.

Earlier Saturday, health officials reported the 41st COVID-related death and 48 new cases for Christmas Day.

In Cattaraugus, 14 new COVID-19 cases were reported Saturday, upping the total to 2,264. There are currently 531 active cases in addition to 1,689 total recoveries, 37 county residents with the virus in the hospital and a seven-day positivity rate of 6.9%.

Chautauqua County has not updated its statistics since Thursday due to the holiday. According to the New York state web site, there are 3,162 cases — an increase of 39 since the last report by the Health Department.
