The Chautauqua County Department of Health on Monday reported the 23rd COVID-19-related death to date.

In addition, 174 new cases of the virus were reported. That includes numbers from Saturday through Monday.

There are currently 441 active cases.

To date, the county has recorded 2,477 total confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Of the new cases reported Monday, 43 involve people living in the Jamestown zip code; 21 in Fredonia; 10 in Silver Creek; nine in Dunkirk; nine in Bemus Point; and 13 in Frewsburg.

There are currently 23 people with the virus in the hospital, which is unchanged from statistics released by the county Health Department on Friday.
