Two COVID-19 vaccination clinics will take place this week in Chautauqua County.

The first will be held Wednesday at Steele Hall at the State University of New York at Fredonia. Appointments are available for those eligible in groups 1a, 1b, those 18 and older with underlying health conditions or anyone over the age of 50.

The second will take place Thursday at the Jamestown Community College campus in the city.

Both clinics will use the Moderna vaccine, the health department said.

Registration can be done on the county Health Department’s website (https://chqgov.com/public-health/covid-19-vaccination-clinics); those who participate must be available for a second dose on April 21 for the SUNY Fredonia clinic and April 22 for the JCC clinic.

New York expanded eligibility for the coronavirus vaccine to everyone age 50 and older, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Monday.

Locally, 32,986 residents within Chautauqua County have received at least one dose, representing 25.8% of the population, while 15,619 have completed their vaccination series.

Starting at $3.50/week.
