One new COVID-19-related death was reported Tuesday by the Chautauqua County Department of Health. To date there have been 156 deaths associated with the virus.

The health department recorded just two new confirmed cases, both coming from Jamestown, bringing the total to 9,271 in the county. There are currently 18 active cases, four people with the virus in the hospital and 52 in quarantine.

According to New York’s online tracker, 51,846 residents in Chautauqua County have completed their vaccinations series while 59,435 have so far received at least one dose.

The state noted that 56% of adults in the county have received their first shot. County officials, meanwhile, believe vaccination numbers are likely higher locally because some may have gone outside the state to get their doses.
