County reports 350 new COVID cases from last week

The Chautauqua County Department of Health reported 350 new cases of COVID-19 the week ending Nov. 6. The health department also noted three new virus-related deaths.

As of Nov. 6 there were 400 active cases of the virus in Chautauqua County as well as 25 people with the virus in the hospital, 912 people in quarantine and a seven-day positivity rate of 7%.

There have been 13,791 cases recorded in the county to date along with 13,177 recoveries and 214 virus-related deaths.

Since Aug. 1 there have been 4,355 cases in the county. Of those, 56% have involved people not vaccinated, 14% who were fully vaccinated, 6% partially vaccinated and 24% whose vaccination status was not known.

The health department noted that 67% of the county’s population over the age of 12 had received at least one dose of the vaccine with 61.4% who were fully vaccinated.
