Dunkirk to distribute free COVID test kits to city residents Monday

Dunkirk officials will be distributing free rapid COVID test kits to city residents Monday beginning at 5 p.m. while supplies last. The distribution will be held at the city’s Boardwalk, in the atrium, located at 8-22 Central Ave.

“Please take note that there is a limited supply of kits available at this time,” the city said in a news release. “Only one kit box per household will be allowed, however each test kit box includes two COVID tests within it.”

Proof of residency will be required. Masks must be worn in order to enter the building.

Further free COVID testing is available at SUNY Fredonia at Jewett Hall and will be in operation daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Quadrant Biosciences PCR COVID-19 test, an oral, saliva-based test, will be administered.
