COVID clinic in Celeron serves hundreds

CELORON -- A COVID-19 vaccination clinic was held Sunday in Celoron, with hundreds of doses administered by the Veterans Affairs office. Among those to get a shot was 100-year-old veteran Joseph Brunacini at Herman Kent Post 777. Gov. Key county, statewide coronavirus stats dip

Active COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations and those in quarantine all dipped in numbers released Friday by the Chautauqua County Department of Health. Similar stats statewide also appear to be on the decline. There were currently 124 active cases in the county, a decline of 19; six people with the virus in the hospital, down from the eight reported Thursday; and 376 people in quarantine, a drop from the 396 noted a day earlier. BBB Tip: Don’t share your COVID-19 vaccine card on social media

The Better Business Bureau is issuing a warning to area residents not to share a photo of vaccination cards on social media. The self-identifying information on it makes people vulnerable to identity theft and can help scammers create phony versions. The card has a vaccine recipient’s full name and birthday on it, as well as information about where they got their vaccine. Middle-schoolers waiting to return at Fredonia

Although the rollout to return to school for most grade levels of Fredonia High School are locked in, there does remain some question marks about grades six to eight.
