Minor injuries reported in Route 60 accident

GERRY — An accident involving a vehicle and tractor trailer on Friday morning has led to charges for an Oakfield man.

Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies responded to the personal injury accident on Route 60 around 11 a.m. An investigation found that Michael Lacey, 43, was traveling south on Route 60 in his tractor trailer when he failed to keep right and rear ended a passenger vehicle, as the vehicle was attempting to turn into their driveway.

Lacey was issued traffic citations for failure to keep right and is to be in the town of Gerry court at a later date to answer to the charges. A 51-year-old Amy Abers of Sinclairville, who was the driver in the vehicle, and a 25-year-old Tyler Abers who was the passenger of the vehicle, were transported to UPMC Chautauqua for non-life threatening injuries.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the New York State Police, and the Gerry Fire Department.
