Brocton woman charged, injured in Route 20 accident

A Brocton woman was charged in a single-vehicle accident on Saturday on Route 20 in the town of Pomfret.

Around 4 p.m., the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to the accident. An investigation found that Nicole B. Stewart, 33, was traveling east on Route 20 when she made an unsafe lane change resulting in her vehicle exiting the road and entering a ditch.

Additionally, Stewart was found to have a suspended New York State Driver’s License. Stewart was transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital for minor injuries by the Fredonia Fire Department.

Stewart was issued traffic citations for third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and move from lane unsafely. Stewart is to be in the Town of Pomfret Court at a later date to answer the charges.
