Mayville motorcyclist charged in DWI after accident
BEMUS POINT — Two people were injured after a motorcyclist, charged with driving while intoxicated, struck a vehicle around 6 p.m. Friday.
Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies were called to a location on Main Street in the village for a report of a personal injury accident. Upon further investigation, deputies determined that Charles Carter, 38, of Mayville was operating a motorcycle while intoxicated, which led to him colliding with another vehicle.
Carter and motorcycle passenger Victoria Baran were transported to UPMC Chautauqua for non-life threatening injuries. Carter was charged with DWI, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and traffic tickets.
Carter will be in the Town of Ellery Court at a later date.
