The Dunkirk Police Department has released the name of the man killed in a single-vehicle crash last week.

First responders were summoned Wednesday around 4:20 p.m. to South Roberts Road in the city of Dunkirk. Upon arrival, crews located a sedan near a large tree with extensive damage.

The driver of the vehicle — 41-year-old Harley D. Smith of Fredonia — was pronounced dead at the scene.
