Jamestown firefighters quickly knocked down a fire reported Tuesday morning.

Crews were alerted to the blaze at 254 Prospect St. around 8:45 a.m. According to Deputy Fire Chief Matthew Coon, crews arrived to find fire in the living room on the first floor.

The bulk of the fire was knocked down in about five minutes.

Everyone inside was able to make it out safe; Coon said no injuries were reported.

City fire investigators were summoned to the Prospect Street residence to look into the cause. Off-shift firefighters were called to assist.
