Fredonia boil-water order goes into next week
Fredonia water users will apparently be boiling water through the weekend.
In an news release this afternoon, the village announced the Chautauqua County Board of Health made an inspection of the Water Treatment Plant to assess progress. “The Health Department was pleased with our progress with the work that was being completed to resolve turbidity issues, and will re-assess our situation with a determination to lift the order,” the news release said. “Please continue to boil water per Health Department guidelines for drinking and food preparation. The distribution of bottled water will continue, and we appreciate all the positive feedback towards this effort. The continued cooperation of the public to conserve water will assist in the timeliness of the plant to recover its normally excellent turbidity removal treatment.”
Additional water distribution is planned from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday and Monday at the Fredonia Department of Public Works at 176 Eagle St.
