A collision at Route 60 and Lakeview Road injured a man and led to charges for a teenager.
At around 7 p.m. Friday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of the accident at the intersection in the town of Pomfret. It was determined that a vehicle operated by a 17-year-old female failed to yield to the right of way at a stop sign, causing a collision with a vehicle operated by a 51-year-old male. The male operator sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision and was transported by EMS for further treatment.
The female operator did not sustain any injuries and was issued a traffic citation for Failure to Yield to the right of way at a stop sign. Due to the collision, Fredonia Fire Department assisted with traffic control; as a portion of Route 60 was temporarily closed.
