City man charged in robbery, theft from business

A Courtney Street man is facing charges after Dunkirk Police responded to a robbery in progress at the Crosby Market at 106 Central Ave.

At approximately 1:45 p.m. Saturday, the city officers received a report of the incident at the convenience store. Officers responded and were able to obtain a description of the subject who had fled the business with an undetermined amount of cash.

Within seconds, the suspect was located a short distance away and was in possession of the stolen property. The suspect, identified as John Tenamore, was transported to the Dunkirk Police department and charged with third-degree robbery, a class D felony, and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

Tenamore was later arraigned in Dunkirk City Court and remanded to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of cash bail.
