Fredonia man charged in grand larceny, robbery
An incident late Monday on Howard Street has led to charges against a Fredonia man.
Fredonia police report that around 11:22 p.m., Philip Whitfield, 28, of 100 Howard St., allegedly confronted two males walking on the same village street. After some demands, a struggle ensued and one of the victims was able to call 911. Police arrived and an investigation led to charges of fourth-degree grand larceny, second-degree robbery and second-degree menacing.
Whitfield was arraigned and sent to Chautauqua County Jail. Fredonia Police were also assisted by the Dunkirk Police Department in the incident.
