Dunkirk police

A person was wounded in an apparent afternoon shooting on East Fifth Street in the city of Dunkirk.

According to reports, East Dunkirk and Sheridan firefighters were called to Urgent Care on Vineyard Drive around 1:45 p.m. for a person with a gunshot wound to the leg. The incident, however, is believed to have happened near the Magic City store location, which is located near a small plaza at Main Street and East Fifth Street.

At this time it is unknown if someone is in custody. Crime scene tape was placed around the store location at 79 E. Fifth St. City police are investigating.
