No injuries reported in morning semi crash

No injuries were reported after a semi trailer overturned on Route 60 in the town of Pomfret.

According to the Fredonia Fire Department, a utility pole was struck in the crash, reported at about 6 a.m. at Shumla Road, causing power lines to come down.

New York State Police said unsafe speed played a role in the mishap. The driver was identified as a 28-year-old New Jersey resident.

The semi was hauling orange juice at the time of the crash.
