Dunkirk police

A 34-year-old Dunkirk woman was being held for arraignment following a reported stabbing incident early this morning.

Officers with the Dunkirk Police Department responded at about 12:20 a.m. to a Webster Street residence for a stabbing injury. Upon arrival, officers located a woman with a laceration to her neck.

The victim was transported by Dunkirk firefighters to Brooks Memorial Hospital for treatment.

An investigation led to the arrest of Shauna D. Moreland. In a news release, Dunkirk police said Moreland was facing charges of second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
