Villenova entry, attack leads to charges for Angola man

VILLENOVA — An alleged disorderly Angloa man is facing charges after a damaging a home while attacking the occupants on Ball Hill Road just after sunrise Monday.

At about 6 a.m., Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence for reports of a unwanted, disorderly subject that was causing damage to property. Upon arrival, Deputies located the subject, who was still inside the residence, and taken into custody without further incident. An investigation at the scene determined that Matthew R. Kennedy, 30, allegedly entered the residence by breaking in a door and started damaging windows, cabinets and other household items once inside.

Kennedy was confronted by the homeowners who were reportedly sleeping at the time entry was made. Kennedy allegedly attacked both the homeowners by kicking and pushing them to the floor. Kennedy was charged with second-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief, reckless endangerment of property, and two counts of harassment.

Kennedy was subsequently processed and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail where he was held pending the Centralized Arraignment Process.
