Raid in city locates cash, drugs and semiautomatic pistol
A raid of a Lord Street home on Wednesday morning led to charges against two city men.
Dunkirk Police reported Wednesday night that they, members of Chautauqua County Drug Taskforce, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s SWAT Team accompanied by several investigators, along with detectives from Jamestown Police Department conducted a search warrant at 111 Lord St. Within the residence, officers located $1,503.00, a loaded semiautomatic Bersa Thunder .380 pistol, 700 bindles containing approximately 72.2 grams of Fentanyl packaged for individual street level sale, 24.9 grams of cocaine hydrochloride, 7.49 grams of crack cocaine also packaged for individual street level sale, along with drug paraphernalia consisting of packaging and scales.
Two individuals were located with-in the residence. Jorge Medina Tirado, 29, and Felip A. Lozada Cruz, 22, have been charged with multiple felonies that include two counts of third-degree criminal possession narcotics with intent to sell; second-degree criminal possession of a loaded firearm, first degree criminal nuisance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. Neither of the individuals located within the residence are capable of possessing a pistol in New York state. As of April 21, Tirado was released from prison and placed under the supervision of New York State Parole.
Authorities continue to ask members of the community to call and report suspicious or narcotics related activity within their neighborhoods.
