Finds of fentanyl, crack lead to charges for city man

Alleged drug sales at a Deer Street location has led to charges against a 59-year-old Dunkirk man.

After an investigation spanning a number of months, a search warrant was executed at 201 Deer St. by narcotics investigators from the Dunkirk Police Department and the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, along with assistance by the city of Dunkirk Police special response team and city officers. Inside the residence, investigators located Justo Luis Gonzalez.

As a result of the search, investigators found 3.27 grams of fentanyl, 0.73 grams of crack cocaine, 20.5 dosage units of Alprazolam, a digital scale, packaging material and U.S. currency.

Gonzalez was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminal possession of drug paraphernalia. Gonzalez was transported to the Dunkirk Police Department and later arraigned in the city court.
