ELLERY — A Sinclairville man was injured in an accident on Route 380 Monday morning.

Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies reported they as well as Sinclairville Fire Department and Gerry Fire Department, responded to the accident that occurred around 7:13. It was determined that Michael Lanphere, 28, of Sinclairville, was traveling north and entered into the southbound lane directly toward another vehicle. The second vehicle was unable to avoid Lanphere resulting in the head-on collision.

Lanphere sustained serious injuries. He was flown from the scene. The other operator sustained minor injuries and was released.
