Dunkirk woman named to SUNY JCC board

Miriam Lugo-Alfaro has been appointed by Gov. Kathy Hochul to serve on the SUNY Jamestown Community College board of trustees. Her term runs through 2027.

Lugo-Alfaro has been a Spanish teacher for Dunkirk City School District since 2004. The Dunkirk resident previously served as an English as second language and Spanish instructor at Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES in Dunkirk.

Lugo-Alfaro also has work experience in human services, including serving as an education counselor, workforce development specialist, bilingual case manager, and employment adviser.
