A high-speed motorcycle chase that included wheelies has led to charges for a Jamestown man.
Dunkirk police reported on Tuesday that officers observed a subject riding a red motorcycle on Lake Shore Drive East in the city of Dunkirk on April 2. When patrol officers activated lights and sirens the operator failed to comply with officers and led patrols on a pursuit throughout the First Ward. The operator then traveled through the pedestrian walkway in Wright Park and proceeded on Lakefront Boulevard at a high rate of speed before he was stopped by officers at Lake Shore Drive and Main Street.
The operator was identified as Eqequiel Villafane-Nazario, 28. He was taken to Dunkirk Police Headquarters where he was charged with third-degree unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle; passing on the right; running a red light; two counts of speed not reasonable; failure to stop at stop sign; failure to obey police officer and operating a motor vehicle in park.
