Lakewood-Busti police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred this morning in the village.

Chris DePonceau, Lakewood-Busti police chief, said a single round was discharged from a firearm around 9:30 a.m. He said the shooting occurred during a dispute between two neighbors within Lakewood.

DePonceau stressed there is no active shooter. A vehicle that may be involved was located Wednesday morning; no arrests have been announced.

The round fired did not strike anyone; no injuries have been reported.

An investigation is ongoing with the Lakewood-Busti Police Department, DePonceau said.
